Finally a Roof Rack for Sprinters that Makes Sense $$

Good-looking Sprinter roof racks can cost $2,000 and up. Our VannCamp rack was "around 800 bucks," and it raises the solar panels enough to sit over the roof fans. Later we added VannCamp's 2-in-1 rear ladder and tire carrier.

Drop-down running boards (about $500, versus $1,500 to $1,700 for name brands) make it easier for everyone, grandparents included, to climb in. The passenger seat sits on a swivel base that cost about $130, compared with $400 to $500 and up for others. To seat four, we replaced the Mercedes 3-seat bench with a Ford Transit 2-seat bench.

We added two sliding windows from Van Windows Direct, both with bug screens, bonded in with 3M Window-Weld.

VannCamp sent us the roof rack.
